Janos Blasszauer, 59, is an experienced English teacher at BatthyƔny Lajos Grammar School in Nagykanizsa, Hungary. With a distinguished career spanning many years, he previously worked as the pedagogical adviser for five years at the Zala County Pedagogical Institute. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he served as the editor of the ICT section for the World Language Programme on the Hungarian Ministry of Education's official website.
Mr. Blasszauer has made essential contributions to the field of English Language Teaching (ELT), especially in incorporating ICT into education. He has actively participated in and delivered workshops and presentations at national, regional, and international conferences, demonstrating his expertise in ICT in ELT. His commitment to professional growth also led him to serve as a tutor at an international Hornby Summer School. Additionally, he played a key role as a member of the coordinating committee for the Asia-Europe Classroom Network (AEC-NET) for several years. He contributed as an associate member of the E-HELP project. He was also involved in several European Schoolnet projects and even worked in Brussels at the EUN headquarters for a year.
As a founding member of the IATEFL-H ICT Special Interest Group, Mr. Blasszauer continues to promote innovation in the field. His professional interests include ICT and AI applications in ELT, fostering online networks and communities, and conducting classroom-based research.
